Gousto Box Review*

We were recently sent a Gousto Food Box. It has everything you need to cook delicious recipes! Gousto take the planning and trekking out of cooking!

We were recently asked if we’d like to try out a Gousto box. Now, if you know us, you’ll know that we LOVE food. Always have and always will do. So, I was never going to say no.

After putting in all my details, having a nosy through the menu, I picked two meals. Delivery was sorted within a couple of minutes. It’s so quick and easy to set up and you can pick what meals will suit your family.

The delivery date can be picked and if you are not in they can leave it with a neighbour or in a safe place. Plus, you don’t need to worry about the food not being in the fridge or in the cupboards, because it comes all packaged up, insulated and secure so it can be left for a while, if you are out. Bonus!

Gousto – Everything you need to cook delicious recipes

As you can see Gousto deliver everything  you need all in one box. They give you the exact amounts you need for each recipe. Therefore there is no waste and you don’t have to go out and buy some obscure ingredients that you’ll keep in the cupboard forever more!

The only problem you will have is deciding which Gousto meal to have first.

Sticky Chilli Beef Burritos and Lime Mayo

We decided to make the Sticky Chilli Beef Burritos with Lime Mayo first. We are massive mexican fans in our house, this was bound to be a winner.

It was so easy to make, we just left out the tomatoes as we are not fans. After dead on 20 minutes it was done.

When you first make it you think that there is not going to be enough to fill you up. It was very deceptive. What I found was that we are massive over eaters. So the Gousto box portion sizes were pretty normal, and more like what we should be having.

The Burritos were filling, refreshing and ever so tasty! We’ve even been out to buy the ingredients to make them again, we liked them that much.

Also, we received this Gousto wooden spoon in our Gousto box. How cute is this?! We a love of cooking, it’s perfect for me!

There is no excuse as to why you couldn’t use a Gousto box now, they give you everything you need!

Curried Chicken and Sultana Rice with a fresh Carrot and Coriander Salad

Our second meal Dan made. He’ll be the first to admit that he will make simple dishes for dinner. Nothing too elaborate. If it needs more than one pan and lots of complication instructions, he won’t make it. I was worried that this may be one of those dishes. However, it was far from it! He did an AMAZING job. It took him slightly longer than the 30 minute time scale it suggested on the card. But, I think that’s more down to confidence in the kitchen.

Look how good this looks! I think the boy did good. It looks just like it does on the card.

Obviously the most important thing is taste when it comes to a good meal. I was sceptical about the carrot salad on the side. I’m not a big fan of salad’s or raw carrot, but with the herbs and the dressings, and accompanying the chicken and curried rice, it was perfect.

This was by far one of the favourite things we’ve ever eaten. The dish was packed full of flavour, great taste and so so good!

Would we use Gousto again?

It was nice not to have to think about what meals we wanted, what ingredients we had to buy and whether we could be bothered to cook it. Gousto take the planning and trekking out of home cooking, leaving us with the fun bit.

I really enjoy cooking. I really enjoy cooking when it’s made so easy, its tasty and there is no waste. It was perfect.

If you are looking for a food box to have I would definitely urge you to consider getting a Gousto box.

Gousto gifted this box to us for review, and ordinarily it would be slightly above our price range, however it is definitely worth it in my opinion!
