Eli turned two months old on Friday 13th April. This update is a little bit late… But it has been a busy few weeks!
Weight
At 3 weeks Eli weighed 8lb 14 1/2oz. Now, at 8 weeks, he weighs 12lb 10oz!
I can’t say that I’m surprised as he seemed to have spent the last few weeks constantly feeding. He’s getting those rolls on his legs that I said I wanted and he is taking double chins to a new level. It’s cute though!
Sizes
Given that his weight went up it will be no surprise that he’s gone from drowning in 0-3 month clothes to only just fitting in them.
He’s very long in the body, so some sleepsuits are quite snug there but the legs are just a tad too long.
He’ll be in 3-6 months very soon, so I better get Alfie’s old clothes ready and sorted for him. There is nothing like some hand me downs hey?
Day and Night Time
Sleep is a funny thing. During pregnancy I’d have said that waking up three times in the night would be a bad night. Life with a newborn now makes me say that waking up three times is a good night. How does that work? It’s all relative I guess.
Dan is very good and he gets up in the night and does the nappy changes and I do the feeding.
In the day it is so hit or miss with what Eli is like. He loves to sleep on me, but only for cat naps. If we are out in the pushchair he sleeps much, much better.
Play Time
Eli is still loving having bath’s with Alfie, he now smiles his way through them! Even though he is getting soaked by the big monkey he seems to really enjoy it.
We’ve started putting him down on his play mat now too. In all honesty it is a bit of a monstrosity. Huge, bright colours, makes noise… what I mean is it’s amazing… But Eli seems to enjoy laying on it. He is trying really hard to kick his legs and move his hands around to touch the toys on it. It does scare him sometimes when it makes a noise though.
Milestones and ‘Firsts’
The first few months are always full of milestones. Eli has had lots of firsts:
- First smiles
- First trip to the Hospital
- First time playing the Wii U (With Daddy and Alfie)
- First ride on the carousel
- First time not in the newborn position in the sling
I said in last month’s update that Eli hadn’t been very well and unfortunately we had his first trip to the hospital. He’d had a cold for weeks but he was struggling with feeding and breathing at the same time. It was a bit traumatic for us all, but thankfully he’s feeling much better.
Mummy Fox loves
I’m loving Eli’s smiles and the way that he beams at Alfie. I mean look at that little face, who wouldn’t be happy after seeing that?
If you haven’t seen Eli’s one month update you can have a look at that here.
