On Friday Eli turned five months old! This is his five month update.
Weight
At four months Eli weighed 16lb 10oz. Now, at five months old, he weighs 18lb 3oz! He’s now firmly between the 75th and the 91st centile. For those of you that thought Alfie was a big baby, this actually means that Eli is bigger than Alfie was at five months old!
Yes, even though he was 2 pounds smaller at birth he’s bigger. That will be the constant feeding…
Sizes
Eli is so long. He fits 6-9 month clothes nicely, but he vests and sleepsuits seem to be small, so 9-12 month seem to fit him much better. He’s five months old, what is going on?!
Although having said that he’s not really worn any clothes this month as it has just been so hot! So it’s been vests, tiny short rompers or just a nappy!
Day and Night Time
I’m so tired. Eli just will not sleep. We are lucky if he does more than 2 hours at the moment. The last few nights have been like having a newborn again. I’m not sure how I am functioning at the moment. It’s not only affecting me. Eli has been quite grumpy, probably because he is overtired!
The heat really hasn’t helped. It’s meant that the nights have been sticky and sleeping is just so difficult.
Teeth
No breakthrough as of yet, but we did invest in a Sophie Giraffe this week. Eli is absolutely loving it. The dribble is unreal and we are trying to give anbesol as often as we can to help with the pain of the teething!
Come on teeth!
Play Time
Play time is interesting at the moment, we put him on his mat but he doesn’t stay there for long. He is just so quick at rolling and turning that he can’t stay in one place for long.
We’ve also got the plastic circle of dreams down from the loft. Yes, the Jumperoo has made it’s first appearance! He’s slowly learning what it does and what he can do in it.
Milestones and ‘Firsts’
The first few months are always full of milestones. Eli has had lots of firsts:
- Rolling
- Splashing in the paddling pool
- Picnic in the park
- Bouncing in the Jumperoo
- First time in his new big boy car seat like Alfie’s
- First time strawberry picking
Mummy Fox loves
I’m loving the gorgeous weather and being outside! Eli loves being out but obviously the sun is a bit of an issue for a little one, so thank god for the Snoozeshade! We’ve also had some lovely family days – strawberry picking, picnics in the park and splashing in the pool.
If you haven’t seen Eli’s four month update you can have a look at that here.
