The lovely Emma aka Mrs Shilts has tagged me in this random Q & A. You can check out her post here. So here it is, you may find out some things about me you never knew!
When was the last time you cried?
My hormones have been a bit crazy, especially the first few weeks after Eli was born and whilst Dan was away. However, I haven’t cried since I watched Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend. It was one of the parts where they give away seats on the plane and to the dad who’s wife had died.
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I’d like to think so! Although, maybe not whilst I’ve been horrendously hormonal…!
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Can pigs fly? Yes, yes I do!
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Their smile. I think good body language says a lot about a person and a smile makes everyone feel more positive.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings. I’m not a huge lover of scary films. I am the kind of person who would then need my hand holding to go upstairs after a scary film.
Favourite smells?
A newborn baby! There is just something about the smell of a newborn baby that I love. Until they have filled their nappy, then not so much…
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
South Africa. We went to my Uncle’s wedding there when I was younger. I’d love to go to Australia at some point though. I’d also love to go to Florida too. I mean we are huge Disney fans after all.
Do you have any special talents?
I don’t think so. I’m pretty boring!
Where were you born?
I was born at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. I grew up in Stockport and now I live in the Midlands with my husband and children.
What are your hobbies?
I love to bake. However, I don’t do it nearly as much as I’d like to, but I love it. I think it’s about time I made a crazy chocolate cake again… It is nearly Easter.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher. I know, I’m crazy. I do work in a school though, so I’m not too far off, but I don’t think I could be a teacher.
How many countries have you been to?
Good question, I’ll count as I type them… England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, Eqypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Amsterdam and Greece? I think that’s everywhere.
What was your favourite/worst subject in school?
My worst subject was PE. I beyond hated it and still would now I think. I also hated Art at primary school, but then I loved it at secondary school. It really makes a big difference having a good teacher.
What is your favourite drink?
I love coffee. I have a Nespresso machine that I’d be heartbroken if it broke. But I do love a milkshake too, especially if it’s from McDonalds. However, since having Eli I have gone off most drinks. I now only really drink water and a bit of coffee.
What would you (or have you) named your children?
My boys are called Alfie and Eli. We very nearly called Eli, Charlie, but instead chose that as a middle name. We never really agreed on any girls names, but that doesn’t matter now as we are happy with two boys.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I don’t watch a huge amount of YouTube, but some of my favourites are Jules Furness, The Meldrums, Gemma Brushneen and This Mama Life.
How many boyfriends have you had?
Three or four? But Dan and I have been together for the last five and a half years now.
Favourite memory from childhood?
I have lots of childhood memories, I’m not sure I could say one was my favourite.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I am a jeans, jumper and converse kind of girl. I will wear dresses or skirts, but I’m much more comfortable in my jeans. Or, as it is now, my maternity jeans still!
Tell us one of your bad habits!
Leaving wet towels on the bed… It drives my husband crazy, but it’s a habit I can’t seem to stop. Sorry Dan!
So there it is, I actually really enjoyed doing it too. I’m tagging Jade at Raising the Rings to take part too. Go and check out Jade’s blog if you haven’t already, she’s just announced that she is expecting Baby number 3 and I’m so excited for her!
